It’s important to note that Monkey Shoulder is a blended malt whisky, combining single malts from Balvenie, Glenfiddich, and Kinnivie distilleries. Its true excellence lies in its versatility for crafting Scotch cocktails, particularly in Rob Roys and Highballs. Monkey Shoulder is an approachable and affordable, ideal for making cocktails. The finish is short, featuring a touch of caramel and lingering oak spice bitterness.Īdding a drop of water enhances the sweetness while toning down the oak spice note. Hints of vanilla, orange, and honey emerge, followed by a touch of bitter oak spice. On the palate, it offers a smooth and creamy experience with minimal heat. The nose of Monkey Shoulder carries a marmalade aroma, accompanied by notes of vanilla, nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon.
